BOONVILLE SNOW FESTIVAL II
Feb 4 - Feb. 6, 2022 (Canceled)
The Boonville Snow Festival II board held their regular weekly meeting on Jan 4th. to review the ever-mounting challenges facing the 2022 Boonville Snow Festival. Many factors play into the boards decisions and normal circumstance aside. We are faced with many challenges beyond our control. This year with the current surge of COVID having a devastating effects around the world, countries such as Canada have shut down almost all mass gatherings and have place restriction on normal daily activities. The BSF II relies on spectators and competitors from our northern neighbors to put on a magnificent event. The board has spoken with many of the Canadian spectators and race teams, and we were told that they would not be able to attend. Plus, with the lack of cold weather the frost is not in the ground to begin building the track. Boonville has NOT seen any significant snow fall and the extended forecast is not showing enough snow to hold a safe event. The largest hurdle is the lack of snow currently. We require snow for the bleachers, driver protection, the snowmobile trail riders that attend. Without the tourist traffic and trail riders, the event has suffered a great lose in the past and we know the pattern well. With all factors being discussed it was another hard decision to postpone this year's race again!! The board will still be meeting regular and planning for 2023 with the date to be announced early fall of 2022.
Thank you for your patients, and we hope you all understand the circumstances we have been facing!
HOPE TO SEE YOU IN 2023
